Get out that hot coco, find a quiet corner (okay stop laughing, It’s necessary to get into the spirit! <3), put on your favorite holiday song, and let’s go on a holiday journey together.
This time of year always makes me reminisce about the yesteryears of my childhood — old movies… A Christmas Story, White Christmas, National Lampoons, and so many more…. cherished traditions, the messiest and most joyful memories, and of course, the gifts and little treasures that made the holidays feel so magical. I would be remiss not to acknowledge that the magic came from Mr. and Mrs. Claus who are known in my house lovingly as Mama and Papa Chin;). Shhhhh.
For many years, that quote from It’s a Wonderful Life meant one thing to me, you know the one…. “Everytime a bell rings an angel gets it’s wings. Now, it means something entirely different.
Today, every time a bell rings, I’m reminded of the many blessings in my life.
As our studio has grown and I’m no longer in every classroom, teaching every class and every child, the one thing I hope continues to ring strong and true throughout the community we’ve built over the past two decades is JOY.
Joy rooted in confidence.
Joy filled with energy and a true zest for life.
Joy grounded in gratitude.
Gratitude for your trust — for allowing our team the opportunity to live out what they love most: changing lives through dance.
Gratitude for your commitment to investing in your child in ways that will far surpass their time on stage.
And gratitude for your belief in our mission of Building Champions on the Stage of LIFE.
This past season was rooted in so much giving — from our Loving Lunches charity, to Cash for Classrooms, to supporting and giving back to our Hamilton community, and stepping in wherever we could so that all children could experience the love and joy of dance.
Each year, I feel like I write a similar sentiment — a reminder to slow down, to be more present, and to extend grace far and wide. And while it may sound familiar, I truly believe it’s one of the greatest gifts we can give — not just during the holidays, but every single day.
If there is anything I hope you feel this holiday season and throughout the year, it’s this: we truly love your children. We are deeply committed to bringing joy, confidence, and meaningful memories into their lives. And if we are lucky enough to cheer them on from the wings, may those moments forever remind us why we love dance so much.
Every time a bell rings, I will think of every dancer in our studio…every family that walked through our doors — past, present, and future. I will think of each one fearfully and wonderfully made. And I will remain fully present in all that this holiday season has to offer — a season of love, peace, and most of all…
